A regular or weekly house cleaner typically costs £15–£25 an hour. Many cleaners discount their hourly rate for regular weekly visits, while a one-off clean is likely to cost more per hour, and most won't take a job that's only one hour long.
How much does a deep clean or end of tenancy clean cost?
A one-off deep clean typically costs £195–£320 and an end of tenancy clean £185–£300. If a home is very dirty, a cleaner may recommend a deep clean to start with.
Is oven cleaning included in a regular clean?
Usually not: the inside of the oven, carpets and upholstery aren't normally part of a regular clean, but most cleaners will do them for an extra charge. Typical set prices are £55–£85 for an oven, £90–£160 for carpet cleaning and £85–£160 for upholstery and furniture.
Should I hire an independent cleaner or a cleaning agency?
Independent cleaners are often cheaper and you get the same person each time, but you vet them yourself and there's no cover for sickness or holidays. Agencies cost more but handle vetting, insurance and backup cleaners. Either way, ask to see proof of insurance and a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
