Question 1

How are these hvac & heating in Pontypool ranked?

Accepted Answer

Rankings use a composite score from public signals: Google Business Profile star rating (when 3+ reviews), Google Business Profile review count (log-scaled), how many public profile links the listing carries (Companies House number, Google Business Profile, other directory profiles the business has supplied, its own website), and whether the listing has been claimed by its owner. Placement is also influenced by an optional paid Premium subscription, which puts a listing ahead of equally-scored rivals. No fabricated reviews.

Question 2

Is this a paid or sponsored ranking?

Accepted Answer

Businesses cannot pay to be listed — a listing is either sourced from public records or added free by the business itself. Placement is partly influenced by money: an optional paid Premium subscription puts a business ahead of equally-scored rivals in this order. Everything else in the score is public data — Google Business Profile reviews and Companies House registration. besttrades.wales takes no advertising or referral fees, and no reviews are fabricated. Premium businesses carry a Premium badge on their own profile page and in our directory listings, but this ranked list does not mark them.

Question 3

How often is this list updated?

Accepted Answer

There is no fixed schedule, so we do not promise one. The order is recalculated from our listing database each time this page is generated, and the generated page is then served from our CDN cache for up to 48 hours — so what you are reading can be up to two days behind our records. The underlying business data comes from Google Business Profile and Companies House, and is re-read when a listing is enriched or its owner updates it, on demand rather than on a cadence. We do not buy or copy data from other directories.

Question 4

What accreditation should I look for when hiring hvac & heating in Pontypool?

Accepted Answer

Look for Gas Safe · CIPHE · OFTEC — these are the key trade-body credentials for hvac & heating in Wales. We do not verify accreditation body membership, so ask the business for its registration number and check it on the issuing body's own register before hiring.
